Bio
The ballad of a balladier
Toronto-born R&B artist Aaron Ridge is a local veteran, and a force to be reckoned with. A multi-musician, a singer, and an occasional rapper, he is one of the most versatile artists you'll encounter. His work uses elements from a variety of musical styles & genres, including both classic and modern R&B, pop, gospel, and a bit of folk. His lyrics are catchy, relatable, and profound. His sound is smooth and effortless.
Aaron's first claim to fame came by way of a viral youtube video that began making its rounds in April of 2016. The Steak and Eggs Disney parody, while a lighthearted joke song, displayed Aaron's high levels of musical skill, even when at play. The video was followed quickly by Aaron's first EP, titled "Of a Soul" which was his first project to reach major streaming platforms. In May of 2018, Aaron released his first album "Love, In Moments", with the indie label 10K Label Group. In February of 2019, he followed that up with the EP "Cinq", and has since released many singles, including "Empty," "Let Me Know," and "Storm" which is a re-release of a song from that first EP in 2016.
In 2023, the soulful singer was awarded his first FACTOR grant, which allowed for him to begin work onhis latest project, the 2024 EP "Where Else". This ambitious new body of work consists of three new songs: the playful and funky "Happy Hour", the lusty and lovelorn "Claustrophobic", as well as the unabashedly romantic title track, "Where Else". The project includes stunning visuals for both "Claustrophobic" and "Where Else", the singles, and releases in its entirety at the end of April.
Aaron Ridge also received his first Juno nomination in 2022, alongside fellow Torontonian Rising Star Zenesoul, for their collaboration on the ballad "Love and be Loved." In 2025, he was awarded the iDREAM Media Award for Music, in recognition of his artistic excellence. He's performed for dozens of events around the city and beyond, including city staples like Afrofest and Spoken Soul Fest, as well as, on the national scale, RBC's First Up. With even bigger plans in the works, the story of Aaron Ridge is just beginning.
